May 23, 2024 – Many people will spend the upcoming Memorial Day weekend taking a road trip, having their first picnic of the season or enjoying that first dip in the lake or pool. Follow these American Red Cross tips to stay safe.

Residents of all ages coming to the City of Lima's public meeting on the new community aquatic center. People viewed renderings and maps of the two proposed locations which are the former Schoonover Pool site and the area between Lima Stadium Park and Lincoln Park. The capital has been secured and now they are asking for input on what can be included at the new aquatic center and people are responding.

They are in short supply and the Lima Family YMCA is hoping to increase their numbers.

It could be a hot summer in Lima if the shortage of lifeguards applying to work at Schoonover Pool continues.
