We had over 30 entrances, which we, you know, you think, oh, maybe a couple here and there, but people are really catching on. CHOOSE to drive sober this holiday season. To prevent fatal as well as serious injury crashes this holiday season, law enforcement agencies in Allen County will be out in full force. Starting December 16th through the new year, federal, state, and local law enforcement will be working overtime to enforce impaired driving laws. On average, more than 10,000 people are killed each year in drunk-driving crashes. Of these 10,000 deaths, many occur during the holiday season. A time of joy, light, and togetherness will come a time of mourning. These deaths ARE preventable.

This Saturday, the "Arrive Alive Tour" will make its way to the fairgrounds. This drunk and distracted driving awareness simulator is ranked number one in the nation. It uses high-tech and state-of-the-art equipment that allows participants to drive while distracted, drunk, or drugged in a vehicle without moving or being intoxicated experiencing real-life dangers without the real-life consequences.

At the City Club in Lima, two honorees were inducted into the Allen County Agriculture Hall of Fame for their instrumental roles in providing success and excellence in the agricultural community in Allen County. Steiner Stock Farm and Wallace Winegardner were inducted Tuesday evening into the hall of fame, and a banquet was held for their contributions to the agricultural community of Allen County.
The "Allen County Small Business Owners Advocacy Board" has been created. It's a group of small business owners that feel they have been underrepresented when it comes to development and government. In the last census businesses with less than 100 employees represented nearly 98% of the businesses operating in the county.
