Community leaders and student-athletes visited Trinity United Methodist Church’s Center for Creative Child Care to celebrate Read Across America Week by reading to preschoolers. Organizers say the event reinforces the importance of early literacy and encourages children to develop a lifelong love of books.

The Lima Public Library was bustling with excitement this morning for Family Friday Story Time! The theme was "Community Helpers," where various community leaders, including Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith, Lima police officers, and Lima firefighters, all visited, showing the children what they do. In addition to listening to stories, the kids had the chance to explore a Lima Police Department cruiser and golf cart, along with some dancing with Patches the Fire Dog.
