The club has offered the clinic for more than 40 years. The five-week, 10-session program pairs families with a licensed speech-language pathologist to help children maintain progress in their therapy during the summer break. Sessions are held at two locations — one in Lima and one in Delphos.
An auction helped raise money for multiple organizations. The Lima Noon Sertoma held an auction at the Old Barn Restaurant & Grill, where attendees were able to bid on multiple items.
Lima Firefighter Paramedic Beau Smith was named the Lima Noon Sertoma Firefighter of the year. Smith has been in the department for 7 years and has attended multiple trainings earning many certifications and experience he has brought back to the department.
This year’s winner is Dr. Charles Rossfeld who has been a member since 1960. Other members describe him as selfless, and says he’s almost never missed a meeting or event.
The Lima Noon Sertoma held their annual pancake day on Saturday. Now in its 64th year, the breakfast event helps raise money for local organizations, such as the summer speech clinic, SHARP, Faurot Park Shelter House, and the Salvation Army.
