July 26, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol: Richland Township – On July 25, 2024, at approximately 11:55 PM, troopers with the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol were on routine patrol when a trooper identified a vehicle that had been reported stolen traveling north on Interstate Route 75. The vehicle was confirmed as stolen by the Lima Police Department. A traffic stop was initiated with the 2017 Chevrolet Impala, and the driver of the stolen vehicle failed to stop, and a pursuit ensued.

18-Year-Old Jourdyn Rawlins was arrested by Lima Police back in May of this year on a rape charge, where he is accused of forcing himself upon the alleged victim. Rawlins signed a waiver in Allen County Common Pleas Court on Thursday that will waive his right to a speedy trial. His original jury trial was set to be scheduled in late August, but will now be pushed to December 6th of this year.
