The Armstrong Air & Space Museum has announced its “First Flight” contest, offering a free once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for one lucky child and one accompanying parent or guardian to experience their first flight aboard a historic Ford Tri-Motor airplane.

November 11, 2024, press release from the Armstrong Air & Space Museum: WAPAKONETA, OHIO – On Friday, Governor Mike DeWine’s office announced the re-appointment of Armstrong Air & Space Museum curator and communications director, Logan Rex, to the TourismOhio Advisory Board. Rex will serve on the board for an additional three years, having previously been appointed to a one year term last September. “I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to continue serving the people of Ohio in this role,” says Rex. “I would like to thank Governor DeWine and his office for their continued support and trust in my ability to help promote Ohio as the heart of it all. I encourage everyone, residents and visitors alike, to take a deeper dive and explore all the amazing experiences the Buckeye State has to offer.”

The Learjet 28 was brought from the Armstrong Airport in New Knoxville to the museum disassembled on top of three separate semi-trailers. The museum got the plane on Armstrong's birthday in August 2020, but they have been working on getting the jet for years before that. Now they are glad to see the plane that he flew following his career at NASA.
