The Consumer Product Safety Commission hinted at a ban on gas ranges after a new study suggests they can be linked to 13% of childhood asthma cases. The study says nitrogen oxides are created which are known to exacerbate existing lung conditions. The Consumer Product Safety Commission has since scaled back on those comments, but says they are looking into new regulations that could require ducted hoods that vent outside. 

The ion endoluminal system offers patients a more precise biopsy as well as easier ways for health professionals to obtain samples from deep within the lung, a previously challenging aspect of lung biopsy. Before receiving the new medical equipment, doctors had to use magnetic tracking to explore a person's lungs but were limited in how they could explore the lung to detect nodules and signs of cancer. But with the new ion system, they will be able to thoroughly inspect a patient's lung.

Combating lung cancer can be as simple as having a CT scan. The Grand Lake Health System is offering low dose CT lung cancers screenings in an effort to find potential cancers early.
