Dozens gather in Bellefontaine Wednesday afternoon for a watch party, for an Olympic Snowboarder with West Central Ohio ties.
A Colorado-based ski resort company plans to take over Mad River Mountain. Vail Resorts will purchase Peak Resorts, who currently own Mad River Mountain, as part of a deal set to close this fall. In total, Vail Resorts will purchase 17 ski resorts owned by Peak Resorts. These will be included in the Vail's Epic Season Pass for the 2019 and 2020 season.
Quite a few daredevils taking to the slopes today for the annual Spring Fling at Mad River Mountain. The day featuring cardboard sled races and the always popular pond skimming event. Several skiers and snowboarders going the distance, staying on their feet, and on top of the freezing water. This years pond was 100 feet long and lined by spectators on both sides. The Spring Fling signals that the ski and boarding season is approaching its end.
