A local centenarian visits students at Shawnee Local Schools Maplewood Elementary on Monday morning. Rosemary Craig attended a one-room schoolhouse for part of her schooling and spent several years at Shawnee Local Schools. Craig turned 104 this year, and these students made her some special birthday cards with heartfelt messages. Teacher Mariam Rader-Downing saw the birthday announcement in the news and thought it would be a nice gesture for the students to do the cards. Craig came to the school to say thank you and to encourage the students to stay engaged in school.
