The City Mission of Findlay offers a warming center during the coldest months of the year. Located at 510 West Main Cross Street, City Mission has a warm place to sleep, a hot bowl of soup, and a supervised safe environment for those needing shelter from the cold. The warming center is open from 8 pm to 8 am every day. City Mission will open its warming center on December 25, 2022, all day as well.
A local event is being held on Saturday, December 17 in Ottawa at the Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery located at 867 West Main Street. The ceremony begins at noon with wreath-laying following a short talk, a 21-gun salute, and TAPS. Names of veterans buried at the cemetery will be read while family, friends, and community place wreaths at more than 421 gravesites. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in this special event.
Monday Evening was the first night of a two night performance series at the Delphos St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The nationally-reclaimed Catholic inspirational performer and author Doug Brummel arrived in Delphos Monday Evening to perform the first part of the "Lighten Up!" catholic ministry.
Lt. Col. George Kloppenburg relinquished command to Travis Adkins, who will assume responsibility of installation management activities. Adkins previously relinquished command to Kloppenburg back in 2019, where he also retired from service. This is also the first time that the JSMC will be under civilian command.
