Museum docents will guide visitors as they explore the one-room schoolhouse and children can partake in activities provided. The Little Red Schoolhouse located at 8884 County Road 236, Findlay, OH was built in 1882 and used to educate schoolchildren until 1936. Today, it is owned and operated by the Hancock Historical Museum and hosts area third and fourth grade students for field trips each year.
It's gearing up to be an interesting show at Artspace/Lima next week. Much like an "open mic" night, Artspace/Lima presents its first "open wall" exhibit. It's a chance for individuals who dabble in the arts to have their work displayed in a gallery setting. Executive director Sally Windle says she is impressed with the quality and variety of work they received in the "first come, first served" call for work.
Art lovers, rejoice! ArtSpace/Lima announced its expansion plans on Monday, a project that will transform the gallery into a full-fledged museum. Just over a year ago, a donor stepped forward with a vision to expand Artspace, offering to finance the vacant building next to the current gallery in downtown Lima. That vision is becoming a reality, as building renovations are set to kick off this month. And that work will help ArtSpace take the next step to becoming a museum.
