The Freedom Flag Monument Foundation holding their Veterans Day observance at 11:11 this morning in remembrance of the signing of the armistice. This was the 12th year for the observance at the monument and organizers say it's important to remember.
"It says in the Bible that when the righteous are in power, the people rejoice, when the evil are in power, the people groan," said Theresa Lee, a coordinator for the event. "There are a lot of times that we need prayer. Prayer for our counties, for our states, for our nation, everyone needs it. For our schools, for our children. We've seen answered prayer in America, and we are going to continue to see it because God answers prayer."
The National Day of Prayer is a national observance for people to come together and pray for the world. Scriptures, songs, and quotes from founding fathers and presidents were read aloud during the service, along with words from local pastors. Organizers say that the nation needs prayer more than ever, especially after the pandemic has caused complications to many different prayer services.
