October 15, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio State Beauty Academy: The Ohio State Beauty Academy is excited to announce its 2024 fall student talent showcase, which will take place Thursday, October 24th, with the theme “Pixar: Animated Inspiration.” Hairstyles will be paired with creative makeup applications, nail art, and costume designs inspired by characters from beloved Pixar movies. The showcase will take place at the UNOH Event Center, with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. and the event starting at 6:30 p.m.

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Ohio State Beauty Academy students demonstrated their creativity in a Dr. Seuss-themed runway show Thursday night.

Kristen Ward, known as Kesho Kage, originally went to the Ohio State Beauty Academy to follow her passion. She then fell in love with Special FX makeup. Thanks to YouTube she was able to practice her craft. Some of her designs take up to 2 hours to complete. She's even started a Youtube page for her makeup as well.

Students took a trip down the yellow brick road and came up with some unique interpretations of the classic movie. The Ohio State Beauty Academy hit the runway with for their fall student competition with the theme, “A Night in Oz”. The competition is a good way for the students to think outside the box, instead of performing the regular hairstyles that they do at the academy. 36 of the cosmetology students picked a character from one of the movies based on "The Wizard of Oz", and completely reimagine a look complete with hair, makeup, nails, and costume.
