Many hands make light work, and that has been the case at the Ottawa River Cleanup. Thousands of people have participated over the years, cleaning up an unknown amount of trash and rubbish from the river. Organizers say volunteers can now sign up online at the City of Lima's website.

The continued rains have caused an annual clean-up event to change dates again. Organizers have decided to push the Ottawa River Cleanup back into the fall. They say safety is a priority and all the rains still have the river out of its banks in many places. It's just too dangerous to be cleaning up around the river.
Due to all of the high water remaining in the area, the annual Ottawa River Cleanup scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed. Organizers have the safety of their participants in mind and have rescheduled the cleanup to Saturday, June 1, 2019. With overnight rains, the river is high and moving fast with slippery banks making conditions too dangerous along the river at this time.
