They work all year long to make some of the best holiday crafts around, and they are pumped for fall. The St. Rita's Craft Club is located in the basement of one of the hospital's office buildings, and to a crafter, it's heaven. There are hundreds of bottles of paint, thousands of flowers, hot glue, and a handyman. These ladies spend countless hours painting and decorating to raise money for St. Rita's auxiliary. They are currently working on autumn and halloween decorations along with Ohio State items for their fall craft show.
Domesticity is defined as the quality or state of being domestic or domesticated along with domestic activities or life. The Allen County Museum is hosting a new exhibit titled "The Art of Domesticity," highlighting the activities that a 19th- or 20th-century woman would do in the home. Things like knitting, porcelain painting, weaving, and more. Many of those can now be seen as fine arts. The show is a combination of current museum artifacts and the artwork of five contemporary female artists that show how decorative arts were intertwined in a woman's life at home.
