LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A new collection on display at ArtSpace/Lima shows off 25 years worth of works made in Ohio.

Saturday was the opening reception for the Plaza Collection, dozens of watercolor paintings purchased from the Ohio Watercolor Association's annual exhibitions. The paintings were bought over a period of 25 years by Dr. Ruben Plaza and his family, who attended the show each year while Plaza practiced medicine in the Auglaize County Area.

The collection is made up of such high-quality works because it only includes the first, second, and third-place award-winning paintings.

One artist featured several times is James Devore, an Ada resident who often painted scenes of Lima. The collection is made up of such high-quality works because it only includes the first, second, and third-place award-winning paintings.

"Art will come to your eyes not only because of the colors, the composition, the lines, but also because there's something behind that is difficult to explain. And you can see that in almost every painting," Ruben explained.

The Plaza Collection will be on display at ArtSpace now through November 2nd during regular business hours.
