LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The second City of Lima Mayor’s Spring Clean-Up event will take place this weekend, giving residents another opportunity to dispose of unwanted items and debris from their properties.
Dumpsters and volunteers will be stationed throughout the city to help residents unload and dispose of accumulated materials. City officials said the first clean-up event last weekend drew a strong response from the community.
Dumpsters and volunteers will be stationed throughout the city to help residents unload and dispose of accumulated materials.
According to organizers, 335 residents participated in the kick-off event, dropping off 231 loads of items. Volunteers filled 21 dumpsters, collected 409 tires and removed two tandem truck loads of brush.
This Saturday’s clean-up will feature five dumpster locations across the city. Tires and brush, however, must be taken directly to the city garage on South Collett Street.
Residents participating in the clean-up are required to show a utility bill to take part in the program.
