“You can bring tires, brush, junk furniture, but do not bring any hazardous waste or chemicals,” said Angie Rex, a property maintenance code inspector. “Paint can be accepted if it has been dried out or treated with kitty litter. If it’s still in liquid form, we won’t take it.”
Volunteers fried up 300 pounds of fish and 600 pounds of French fries, serving it all with gallons of tartar sauce to satisfy hundreds of hungry supporters. Attendees had the option to dine in, take their meals to go, or have bulk orders delivered to local businesses.
The Allen County Engineers Office received a grant from the Ohio E-P-A to use recycled tires in asphalt for a 4-mile paving job in northern Allen County.
