LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — One of the biggest county fairs in Ohio is just a week away, and the Allen County Agricultural Society is getting everyone ready at its annual dinner.
Besides recognizing the people who work hard to put the fair on each year, the agricultural society inducted longtime fair and fairgrounds supporter Alice Bennett into its Hall of Fame.
The Allen County Junior Fair also announced the court that will rule over the 2026 fair. Harper Corbet and Tate Ditto were named this year's Fair Princess and Prince, and the Fair King and Queen are Connor Wita and Heidi Parthemore.
Both said they are excited to represent Allen County at the fair, and they are looking forward to passing along some advice to the young kids in 4-H.
“Be kind to everybody and put a helping hand out there if somebody needs help, help them. Especially at the Allen County Fair, many kids don't know how to do certain things with their animals and you can go out and help them if they need it. And don't be afraid to meet new people and talk to people that you don't know and nobody's going to bite, they're all friendly,” said Connor Wita, 2026 Allen County Fair King.
“Be prepared for your interviews. I help a lot of people in my club with like their pre-interviews to help them calm their nerves, especially with our Cloverbuds. Cloverbuds, I mean they're little 5, 6 year olds walking around brand new to 4 H and to interviews and they're like freezing up in interviews, but it's really good to have a friendly face there that they know,” said Heidi Parthemore, 2026 Allen County Fair Queen.
The Allen County Agricultural Society also handed out various scholarships to students who participated in the Junior Fair program.
