LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Heavy rain early Friday morning caused creeks, rivers and ditches to overflow, leading to flooding on streets and roads throughout the area.
Travel along Elida Road just west of Eastown Road was hampered by high water. Most drivers avoided the water by using the center turn lane. According to the Allen County Sheriff's Office, high-water signs were placed in all corners of the county. The National Weather Service flood watch for Allen County expired at 11 a.m. Roads may remain impassable for a while until the water begins to recede.
Remember: Don't drown, turn around.
