The Lima Kiwanis Club has donated proceeds from their virtual pet contest to three local organizations: Deb's Dogs, A Lotta Love Pet Rescue, and the Ohio SPCA & Humane Society Adoption Center of Allen County.

The Putnam County Dog Shelter definitely had a good year last year, selling around 6,100 dog licenses and taking in 113 cases in 2017.
