11 Wright State University Lake Campus men and women are now one step closer to protecting and serving residents. On Monday evening in Celina, cadets with the Wright State University Lake Campus Police Academy graduated and received their certificates from the program. The cadets completed 770 of academy training that covered a wide range of law enforcement curriculum including education in firearms, self defense, driving, crisis intervention, criminal investigations, and so much more. Many of Monday night's graduating cadets already have jobs lined up in area police departments, something that Wright State instructors say is a huge need in society.

Local students looking to go into the law enforcement field spent the week learning and Friday is the ending of a week long summer police academy program.
