President Donald Trump and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison keyed in on Pratt Industries investment into Wapakoneta and the United States as a whole.  Billionaire owner Anthony Pratt, introduced the two leaders, talking about the size of the local investment and the quality of the local workforce. 

“And the hard working patriots of Ohio, he is very happy,” says President Trump.   “They said’ This force’, i said ‘How are they?’ I said “are they as good as I think.’ He said ‘Even better’.”  

President Trump landed back in Lima on Sunday evening. He ventured down I-75 to Pratt Industries, where people lined the streets, gathered in front of the Armstrong Air and Space Museum and even on top of a bowling alley just to get a glimpse of his motorcade.

"It’s a very special occasion today," Trump said to a crowd at Pratt Paper. "We celebrate the extraordinary economic partnership between our nation and we proudly declare that Pratt industries and this great, great state of Ohio is open for business."

The arrival of Trump and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison signified the beginning of jobs an investment into Wapakoneta.

More information is slowly starting to come from the White House about the presidential visit this weekend. We're still awaiting times and details of what the visit will consist of. But, we're learning more behind the reasoning for president trump's visit on Sunday. A White House official says this is all because of a promise Anthony Pratt made two years ago.

There's plenty of excitement for President Donald Trump's planned visit to Wapakoneta this weekend. The head of the Auglaize County Republican Party, John Bergman, is one who shares that excitement. Trump is expected to visit Pratt Industries with the Australian prime minister, who has a relationship with the owner of Pratt. Bergman says the visit shows the president's interest in the midwest and shows that this area has world trade capabilities. We still don't have many details about the visit and Bergman is waiting on details himself.

The announcement that President Trump and the Prime Minister of Australia would be stopping by Wapakoneta was made on Sunday night - and people are excited as the plans for the visit are coming together. The tour, which the White House described will be at a "new Australian-owned manufacturing facility", is meant to show the strength of the trade and investment relationship between the United States and Australia.

Mayor Tom Stinebaugh also provided an update on the new business coming to Wapakoneta, Pratt Industries.

The new building is a roughly $2 million project will be twice the size and create 35 new jobs.
