Local business leaders learned more about what trends they could seen in the future.  The Real American Sunrise brought in local experts to talk about  the job market, economics, banking and real estate.  The pandemic has thrown a curve ball into all of those areas and most small businesses will have to wait to see what the next few months could bring.  But as for residential home sales, it is moving fast and realtors says people will have to stay on your toes if you are looking to buy or sell.

If you see something, say something. That was the message at Friday morning's “Real American Sunrise”. Allen County Sheriff Matt Treglia and EMA Director Tom Berger talking to local business leaders about threats that businesses don’t normally think about, like an active shooter situation or a hazardous spill. Both men stress the importance of being prepared, whether it is training for a potentially dangerous intruder or having a plan in place if there are suspicious packages outside your door.

Things don't slow down at Rhodes State College, even in the summer months. Interim Dean Cynthia Spiers gave the crowd at the "Real American Sunrise" a snapshot of some of the things that are going on at the college. Around 2,000 high school students are taking advantage of the college credit plus program through Rhodes, and they are using state and federal dollars to expand apprenticeship opportunities in the area. After a couple of years of down enrollment, Spiers says that they are looking at increased numbers this coming school year.
