Commissioner Cory Noonan saying this proposal can be done and is the closest they have been to making the new facility a reality. The commissioners have received several "referral for qualifications" from architects to design the facility and will review those in the near future. Today they asked department heads to voice their concerns and needs for office space. With recent federal dollars from the American Rescue Plan Act, commissioners say now is the time to act.

Elder abuse is an issue that needs to be talked about. It comes in many forms from physical abuse to neglect and exploitation. Adult Protective Services says 1 in 10 seniors are at risk of abuse and only 1 in 14 cases is ever reported. Their office investigates and evaluates potential referrals that come to their offices.

“Smart City” is a project that is taking a serious look at the city’s software programs in all their departments. Wednesday was a look into the courts and law enforcement. The goal is to get a system that can talk between all the departments.
