The Department of Justice is acknowledging it's removed from its website news releases about criminal cases related to the Jan. 6, 2021, riot. The department says the information about the prosecutions is “partisan propaganda.” The purge of news releases documenting criminal charges, convictions and sentencings is the latest step by the Trump administration to dramatically rewrite the history of the Capitol assault. On that day more than five years ago, hundreds of supporters of Republican President Donald Trump stormed the building in an effort to halt the congressional certification of his 2020 election loss to Democrat Joe Biden.

According to Federal Court Records, the case against Shawndale and Donald Chilcoat from Celina has been dismissed. They were facing numerous charges following the investigation. According to the complaint, the Chilcoats were seen in pictures and video from inside the Capitol Building and the chamber that lawmakers were voting to confirm the presidential election as rioters entered the Capitol.
Governor DeWine has called in the national guard to assist in the response to the violent protests happening in Columbus.
The call for extra enforcement was made this evening after the third day of protests at the state capital in response to the death of George Floyd. DeWine says he welcomes the voices of people who are focused on injustices like Floyd’s, but will not tolerate acts of violence or citizens being threatened.
