Celina couple arrested on federal charges

According to federal court records, the case against Shawndale and Donald Chilcoat from Celina has been dismissed. They were facing numerous charges following the investigation. According to the complaint, the Chilcoats were seen in pictures and video from inside the Capitol Building and the chamber that lawmakers were voting to confirm the presidential election as rioters entered the Capitol.

Matthew Honigford of Delphos was sentenced to 19 months in prison last fall for assaulting and impeding officers. According to the affidavit, Honigford was seen on body cameras using an American flag to push officers, and he was in front of protestors who pulled down barriers. As of Tuesday afternoon, the federal prison database says he was still in a Pennsylvania federal prison.

Jonathan Copeland of Shawnee Township was found guilty of charges last year, including civil disorder, assaulting officers, and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. According to press release from the U.S. Attorney's office, he was sentenced to nearly 6 years in prison, but he has appealed his verdict. As of Tuesday afternoon, he was still listed in an Ohio prison. Court documents say Copeland was among the rioters who illegally entered the Capitol and helped push a large metal Trump sign into a line of officers.
