ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - An Allen County man is awaiting a sentence for his involvement in the January 6th Capitol attack.
Jonathan Copeland was found guilty of eight charges in federal court, including civil disorder, assaulting officers, and violent entry and disorderly conduct on capitol grounds.
Court documents say Copeland was among the rioters who illegally entered the Capitol on January 6th. They say he failed to stay back despite commands from officers, helped push a large metal Trump sign into a line of law enforcement officers, and was seen inside the Capitol with others during the breach. Copeland is scheduled to be sentenced in September 2024.
