WASHINGTON, D.C. (WLIO) - A Delphos man was sentenced to 19 months in prison for his role in the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. Matthew Honigford was sentenced on the charge of assaulting, resisting, and impeding officers. He will also have 24 months of supervised release following his prison term.

According to the affidavit, Honigford was seen on body cameras using an American flag to push officers, and he was in front of the protestors who pulled down the barriers to get into the Capitol Building.

Honigford was listed as absent without leave from the Ohio National Guard after he stopped attending drill weekends because he says he didn't trust the current state of the country following the outcome of the 2020 election.
