Lima City Schools is celebrating Public Schools Week with its annual districtwide open house.
Students at Lima Central Catholic completed nearly 600 random acts of kindness in just two weeks as part of the “Doing A-OK Challenge.” The effort is now being passed on to Shawnee High School as organizers aim to expand the movement and reach one million acts of kindness.
Elementary students got a chance to enjoy some gooey fun while learning a science lesson ahead of the holiday break.
Phyllis Montrose, Child Development Resource Director for Head Start, said, "We're still not sure exactly what's going to happen, because we are a November one grant. So as soon as our grant goes through that process, and then they release the funds, we know that we will be fully operational, but at this point, you know we're going to continue it with business as usual."
