The city can be responsible for mowing up to 500 parcels during the year. These are city land bank properties and specified parcels with the mowing traditionally being awarded to one contractor. This year will be different as the city wants to break the parcels into separate contracts giving more than one company a chance at a contract.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced today that $4.8 million in grants will be awarded to support the work of rape crisis centers and sexual assault survivor programs in Ohio. Twenty-five rape crisis centers and survivor service providers from 24 Ohio counties received grants. Please see list of awardees.The grant funding will help the 25 programs offer virtual/remote and crisis services, support emergency needs of sexual assault survivors, and pay for hiring and retention bonuses to attract and maintain staff to ensure the continuity of sexual assault recovery services.
The Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities taking the time to thank their direct service professionals for all they do for their clients. Many of these direct service professionals work in the home helping the person learn the tools to be independent. There are hundreds of people who work with the board of developmental disabilities but more are needed. Those who have worked as direct service professionals say what they do is challenging but rewarding.
