Last week, Congressman Jim Jordan and Democratic Candidate Shannon Freshour tackled the topic of Social Security after a question collected from a citizen of Ohio's 4th District asked the candidates about recent reports of Social Security being under review.
The event was hosted by St. Marys, New Bremen, and New Knoxville Rotaries and allowed each candidate time to answer a collection of preplanned questions from the public. Jordan is running for what could be his 8th term in the U.S. House of Representatives, while this is Freshour's first.
The Allen County Democrats unveiled their headquarters for the election season. It's located on Bellefontaine Avenue across from Lima Memorial. The democratic chairman says it'll be a place for people to get information on the candidates as well as pick up signs and buttons for those they want to support. Shannon Freshour was the surprise guest. She is running against Jim Jordan for a seat in the United States Congress.
With under two months until the election, one candidate made a stop to talk to voters.
The Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce and The League of Women Voters hosted a “Meet the Candidates” reception this evening so voters could better familiarize themselves with the candidates. There are three Democratic primary candidates that are on the ballot on March 17th to challenge the incumbent Jim Jordan for the 4th Congressional District seat in the US House of Representatives. The candidates spoke to us about what they would bring to the district as a Representative.
