The United Way of Greater Lima kicked off its new fundraising campaign and thanked the supporters for their last one. The 2024 campaign goal is 1.6 million dollars; that money will help fund 40 different programs at United Way's 36 partner agencies. The annual Lima Charity Car Show put their money where their mouth is today. The car show charity raises money every year in June for their annual event at Apollo Career Center. This year they reached a new high, raising ten thousand dollars and donating that money to local charities like the Veterans Food Pantry, the Crossroads Crisis Center, and the Allen County Council on Aging. The car show has been around for 18 years, and what started out as a small fundraiser has now evolved into a community-wide charity for all to enjoy.
