United Way of Greater Lima kicks off 2024 campaign

The United Way of Greater Lima kicked off its new fundraising campaign and thanked the supporters for their last one.

The 2024 campaign goal is 1.6 million dollars; that money will help fund 40 different programs at United Way's 36 partner agencies. The programs that get the funding need to promote the United Way's core values of health, education, or financial stability. Each dollar you donate can go a long way to help area nonprofit organizations.

"If you want to designate it to a certain agency or program, you can do that. We make sure that it gets there, and every little dollar helps. Every dollar, every dime, it stays right here in Allen County. Not one dime leaves Allen County unless someone designates that it goes to Putnam County; otherwise, it stays right here. I think that people need to know that. They think that money goes out of United Way worldwide, and it does not. We have an endowment that pays for that. So, every dollar raised here stays so we can help people in our community," says Erin Hardesty, President and CEO of the United Way of Greater Lima.
