A group of local volunteers got together and constructed a beautiful, new playhouse for area children to play in!
Volunteers from the United Way of Greater Lima pulled out the power tools and put together a 6-foot long, 5-foot wide, and 7-foot high cedar wood log cabin playhouse along with a garden center. The new playhouse and garden center was built at the West Ohio Cap Early Learning Center area for the children in the Head Start program, giving them a safe place to learn and play. Volunteers say building the playhouse is a great way to give back to the community.
Dana, UAW local 1765, and Lima Bobcat also provided resources to help with construction of the playhouse.Â
"It's really about helping the community, coming together. Again, all of everything United Way is about is people coming together and help to make a difference in the community and support those around us and the community that we live in," said Jim Kirk, a volunteer with the United Way of Greater Lima.
