December 19, 2024, Press Release from Mercy Health: LIMA, OH. (Dec. 19, 2024) – Mercy Health has named Linsey Paul the chief nursing officer for the Mercy Health – Lima market. Paul, who’s been serving in her role as CNO of the Lima market since August 2024, has served the Mercy Health ministry in a variety of nursing leadership roles for more than a decade and has experience in serving in the ministry’s Lima and Springfield markets. Most recently, she served as the assistant chief nursing officer for Mercy Health – Springfield Medical Center.“We are thrilled that Linsey has joined us as Chief Nursing Officer of the Mercy Health – Lima market. Linsey is a passionate nurse leader who is laser-focused on transformational leadership,” said Ronda Lehman, president of Mercy Health - Lima. “She has a deep understanding of not only nursing and operations within Mercy Health but of the needs of the Lima community as well. We look forward to seeing how she advances our nursing practice at St. Rita’s in her new role.”
Patients in a hospital will all have different needs, depending on what they are experiencing, and one department in a hospital like Mercy Health St. Rita's that helps with patient needs across the board is dietetics. Dieticians at St. Rita's help patients in outpatient areas like bariatric weight loss, the cancer center, and dialysis to name a few. There are also clinical dieticians that help to make sure that hospitalized patients have their nutritional needs met.
There are several types of radiology services that are available through Mercy Health St. Rita's. One that some may not know about is nuclear medicine, performed by technologists like Chad Baldosser. Baldosser was in construction before he went back to school to earn his degree.
The Lima Rotary Club learned about improvements to mental health treatment in the region. Representatives from Mercy Health-St. Rita's spoke to the club about their inpatient behavioral health facility that opened back in July. The new space allows them to take on more patients struggling with addiction and mental health and offer more outpatient programs. Hospital officials also want to change the way mental health is perceived.
Mercy Health St. Rita's is taking advantage of a City of Lima program to help their workers become homeowners. They have announced a down payment assistance program of up to $10,000 for any St. Rita's employee looking to purchase in census tract 129, the area surrounding the medical center. The money is coming from the Lima New Jobs program, which Mercy Health qualified for when they built the graduate medical building. The medical center says it is a win-win for their association and their neighborhood.

Many hands make light work, and that is just what happened at the West Ohio Food Bank today. More than 80 volunteers from the United Way's Day of Caring were at the food bank doing a variety of things. They helped on the food distribution line, assembled senior boxes of food, and even painted around the warehouse. The amount of work that was done with that number of people only took several hours instead of days or just being pushed off until later.
