LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Many hands make light work, and that is just what happened at the West Ohio Food Bank today.

Many hands make light work, and that is just what happened at the West Ohio Food Bank.

More than 80 volunteers from the United Way's Day of Caring were at the food bank doing a variety of things. They helped on the food distribution line, assembled senior boxes of food, and even painted around the warehouse. The amount of work that was done with that number of people only took several hours instead of days or just being pushed off until later.

Those participating say it was a no-brainer to help out.

"I've done this for about 7 years now, and I love meeting the people, and it's great to just help our community. We do a lot at Mercy Health to help our community," said Jolene Radel, Mercy Health-St. Rita's.

"We felt like it was very important to come out and volunteer in the community and give back to the community. We have 6 people from our campus out here working with the West Ohio Food Bank," commented Bryan Albright, Ohio State Lima.

"We have a lot of people come out to do this. So we really enjoy doing this every year," said Drew Kantonen, Superior Credit Union.
