MARIA STEIN, Ohio (WLIO) — The village of Maria Stein is preparing for another weekend of family-friendly entertainment as the annual Maria Stein Country Fest returns for three days of activities, fundraising and attractions beginning Friday, June 26.
The festival will run through Sunday night and is expected to draw thousands of visitors to the village while providing fundraising opportunities for numerous organizations throughout the area.
Event organizers say they work year-round to create activities that appeal to all ages. This year's lineup includes a car and motorcycle show, a dodgeball tournament and a diaper derby. One of the festival's signature attractions is tractor square dancing, which continues to be a crowd favorite.
“If you never heard of tractor square dancing, look them up. It is a fun experience and I think what makes it fun is they're having fun. They're not they're not in first gear. They're actually out there driving as fast as they can. They're spinning as as quickly as they can. So they're having fun and it resonates to the crowd as well and it's always fun to watch and the stands are always packed,” said Greg Koesters of Maria Stein Country Fest.
Additional highlights include multiple daily performances by the Cincinnati Circus, antique and garden tractor pulls, KOI drag racing and live music throughout the weekend. Organizers encourage attendees to visit Maria Stein Country Fest website for a complete schedule of events.
