The City of Lima continues its effort to control stormwater runoff in the city. A stormwater detention facility is being built at the west end of O'Connor at Melrose, just south of Robb Avenue. The 2-acre site will have an 11-thousand cubic yard pond that will collect storm water before it runs into the sanitary sewer causing basement backups and additional flooding. The project is the first in a number of stormwater improvements.
Eleven Lima businesses and organizations are being honored as 2019 Stormwater Superstars. This distinction recognizes a variety of efforts and practices from the individual businesses that each have an impact on stormwater runoff and ultimately a clean and healthy Ottawa River.
