Columbus Grove Schools celebrated National School Breakfast Week with themed activities, new menu items and prizes to encourage students to start their day with a healthy meal.
Lt. Gov. Jim Tressel’s statewide fitness challenge is expanding to include third graders after more than 180,000 Ohio students joined the program’s first round.
“[They are] the guardians of not only the nutrition of the children that they serve, but also their well-being,” said Christian, president of Southwest Training Systems Inc. “Because for many of these kids, this is the best meal they get in the day. This is maybe one of the few smiling faces they see in the day, and [I] get them to understand the impact they have by just doing what they do every day, with love and with care.”
