LIMA, OH (WLIO) - A Lima youth music program gives students hands-on studio and live show experience.
“Music has always been a good part of my life. It helped keep me off the streets. It kept my brain safe,” Henderson said. “I feel like music can help kids—let them release, let them create. Music is a safe space.”
A part of being an 18-year-old means making choices that will impact the rest of your life such as possible careers and college plans, plus discovering what your passions are. For Lima resident Janya Henderson, that decision is an easy one. Henderson was just sixteen when she started her own photography business. She says the passion to pick up the camera comes from her uncle.
The show drew in photographs from people all around the region and while the opening celebration was canceled due to concerns of the COVID-19 virus, the exhibit is open. More than 100 photos are on display in 3 studios at ArtSpace. Executive Director Sally Windle says the show is always popular.
