The Allen Soil and Water Conservation District hosted its first Native Plant and Rain Barrel Sale to encourage residents to incorporate environmentally beneficial plants and practices into their landscapes. Organizers said native plants support local wildlife and pollinators while rain barrels help conserve water and manage stormwater runoff.

The Allen Soil and Water Conservation District will host a native plant and rain barrel sale June 6 to encourage environmentally friendly gardening practices. The event will feature Ohio-grown native plants, educational seminars and rain barrels for purchase at the district’s Slabtown Road offices.
