The spirit of Christmas is returning to a downtown Lima business to bring joy to all. Christmas in July has become an annual tradition at The Meeting Place on Market. It brings the sights, sounds, and tastes of the holidays during the summer. The cafe will be turned into Santa's Workshop, with plenty of activities for the kids and even some for the adults. It's an event for the whole family.
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The 2023 Downtown Lima Holiday Festival marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the city.
Artspace/Lima is bringing some excitement and joy into young people's lives through its free create a graphic novel to go bags. The Met and The Meeting Place were busy today as families came to pick up the bags.
Inside each bag are comic strips which allow kids to create their own creative novels. There are also other materials in the bag to help them put the book together.
Partners in the Legacy Arts collective spoke with the Lima Rotary Club about the progress that they've made on their location on Main Street. Back on September 23rd, Shop for Good officially took up half of the floor space at Alter Ego Comics as part of the plan to create a space for the arts in Lima to come together under one roof. Rustgaze Records and The Meeting Place are also part of the partnership. A recording space for Rustgaze Records is in the works for the building. Once the first floor is completed, Legacy Arts will be looking at working on the rest of the space on the upper floors.
Alter Ego Comics will no longer be moving locations, but things will soon look different at their Main Street store. Alter Ego is partnering with The Meeting Place and Shop for Good, as well as Rustgaze Records to bring a unique shopping experience to the Lima area. Shop for Good will take up half of the current Alter Ego floor space, with a coffee kiosk by The Meeting Place. Building owner Marc Bowker says they hope to add a small performance venue at the back of the building along with studio space for Rustgaze but are still in still in the planning stages at this time.
