August 7, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol: Springfield Township, Williams County – The Defiance Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on August 7 at approximately 12:10 P.M, at the intersection of U.S. Route 6 and State Route 66 in Springfield Township, Williams County. A 2021 Ford Transit Van operated by Timothy C. Crowley Jr, age 35, of Toledo, Ohio, and his front seat passenger, Shayn Vincent Gonzalez, age 29, of Toledo, Ohio, were traveling north on State Route 66. A 1997 Peterbilt 379 tractor trailer operated by Jordan M. Luecke, age 30, of Huntsville, Missouri, was traveling east on U.S. Route 6. Mr. Crowley failed to yield at the posted stop sign on State Route 66, striking Mr. Luecke’s vehicle in the side.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious two-vehicle crash in Mercer County. It happened at the intersection of State Route 118 and State Route 707 just after 9 a.m. Tuesday morning. State troopers say a semi was traveling north on State Route 118 and an SUV was traveling West on State Route 707. The SUV failed to stop at a stop sign, driving into the intersection and was struck by the semi. The semi jackknifed and slid off the road, the SUV also slid off the road and was overturned.

In American Township, a vehicle was traveling northbound down the 4800 block of Gomer Road when he drove off the right side of the road. The driver over corrected, crossed the center line, corrected again, and then ventured to the right clipping a power pole. The impact knocked down the power lines and the pole, hitting a nearby home. The driver was not injured in the accident, but he was cited.

A two-vehicle accident outside of Cairo sends one person to the hospital. The accident happened just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday (8/6/19) at the intersection of Slabtown Road and Lincoln Highway. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the bus drove into the intersection and ran into the side of a pickup truck. The impact disconnected the trailer it was pulling, which slid into a nearby yard. One person was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

An overturned pickup truck caused the shutdown of Route 696 north of Beaverdam for about two hours Monday. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the truck was traveling at an excessive speed carrying to tanks of fertilizer when it overturned and spilled the fertilizer over the roadway. A highway official said the trailer was rated to go no more than 25 miles per hour and said the driver was going somewhere between 45 and 50 miles an hour.

The Findlay Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is looking into a three vehicle crash that sent two people to the hospital early Monday morning. According to the Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 4:30 on I-75, just south of SR 613.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle accident just east of Delphos Thursday afternoon. The accident took place at about 2:50 at the intersection of Elida Road and Old Delphos Road. Both drivers were traveling westbound. The one driver, who was in a 2018 Toyota Corolla and wearing a seatbelt, was attempting to turn south onto Old Delphos Road.

A motorist receives only minor injuries after being struck by a semi on U.S. 30 Thursday morning. The accident happened around 7:30 at the intersection of Cool Road and U.S. 30. Ohio Highway Patrol Troopers say the driver of the white car was heading south on Cool Road when the motorist didn't stop at the stop sign and drove into the path of the semi.
