WLIO — The first round of the high school football playoffs arrives in Week 11, and 26 West Central Ohio schools qualified for the postseason.
The top four teams in each region receive a bye, while the top eight seeds earn home games. In Division I, Findlay has a first-round bye as the No. 3 seed in Region 2.
In Division II, Lima Senior will host Cincinnati Aiken in a first-round matchup.
Division III sees Wapakoneta finish as the No. 2 seed in Region 10 and receive a first-round bye. Shawnee earned the No. 7 seed and will face Parma Heights Holy Name at Shawnee Stadium. St. Marys secured a home game and will host Copley.
In Division IV, Bath (8-2) is the No. 4 seed and will have the week off.
Division V highlights include 10-0 Liberty-Benton sitting fifth in Region 18 and set to host Delta. Indian Lake of Stuart has a first-round bye in Region 20.
Division VI is busy locally: unbeaten Paulding has a bye in Region 22; Tinora reached the field as the No. 12 seed; Bluffton will host Western Reserve; and Patrick Henry will welcome Carey. In Region 24, Coldwater and Anna will host Covington and Cincinnati Deer Park, respectively.
In Division VII, Region 26 saw every bye week go to a West Central Ohio school — Lima Central Catholic, North Baltimore, Leipsic, and Columbus Grove.
One of two local-against-local matchups features Arlington traveling to Pandora-Gilboa, a rematch from early September when the Rockets won 24-14.
Marion Local is once again the No. 1 seed, with St. Henry joining them in taking the week off as the No. 2 seed.
Elsewhere in Region 28, Fort Recovery and New Bremen will both hit the road.
The other local-on-local matchup sees Minster visiting Lehman Catholic at Sidney Memorial Stadium.
The playoffs begin this week as West Central Ohio teams continue their chase for state titles.
