They have been meeting to process requests for the federal "ARPA" dollars. The American Rescue Plan has supplied the county with 19.8-million dollars to pay for projects that can be traced back to COVID-19. The commissioners have been getting requests from most of the county departments. Once they get a request specific steps are taken.

"You know once we get to a point where we want to know whether or not yes – no – can we do this with the guides that the treasury provided. We are working with our legal team and also an outside legal team that really provides more expertise in the treasury guidance that is provided on this program to then give us justification back as to yes this can be done and what particular bucket of funding that we can use," said Cory Noonan, Allen County Commissioner.

The commissioners have approved several projects so far with dozens of more requests to review and decide.
