GRAND LAKE ST. MARYS, Ohio (WLIO) - Work is now underway at Grand Lake St. Marys State Park for a new $2.5 million dollar mixed-use facility.

Located directly across from the park office, the building will house and replace the present day camp store and park office. In addition to new office, retail, reception and storage space, guests will use the facility for registration, haul inspections, park information, dock fee payments, and camp store shopping.

The current camp store and park office are outdated and deteriorating, so park officials are excited for this project.

Located directly across from the park office, the building will house and replace the present day camp store and park office.

"With the two buildings being combined, it's going to make it a lot better for our campers that are coming in and now they don't have to come to this building to get checked in and then go back to that building to get their tags," said David Faler, park manager for Grand Lake St. Marys State Park. "Since both buildings are together, if we get real busy here in the registration office and there's some extra people in the camp store, they can pull them then, that way the people here get timely service."

Work is expected to be completed in April of 2027. Once opened, the existing camp store and park office will be torn down.
