FT. JENNINGS, Ohio (WLIO) — Mother Nature is forcing Fort Fest to change directions as the annual community festival continues to honor and celebrate veterans.

The threat of the Auglaize River reaching flood stage Saturday afternoon forced many displays and activities to move from the park to higher ground. All reenactments in the park were canceled because of the risk of flooding, but the Huey flights continued. Military trucks and equipment also were moved to the street along with the rest of the food, activities and entertainment.

Fort Fest continues uptown, as flooding threat moves events & displays out of the park

“But there's still plenty to do uptown. There is still some walls and plenty of food, drinks uptown, things for people to see, military vehicles all on higher ground. So, we should be good uptown and yeah, we just got to pivot and do what we can do to make it keep going on and make sure everybody has a good time the best that we can,” says Jason Grothause, Fort Fest Committee.

The duck races and live entertainment will continue downtown under the tent Saturday night. Weather permitting, the Huey flights will continue, and the Hometown Heroes exhibit will be on display Sunday. Updates can be found on the Fort Jennings Park Facebook page.
