Allen County Sheriff Matt Treglia was in attendance at Monday’s dispatch services meeting and wanted to make sure people understand a couple of things.
That he can not enter into contracts or collect money for dispatch services and has to work within the budget provided to him. He says the safety of Allen County residents is his top priority regardless of what happens with the billing of services.
Sheriff Matt Treglia explains, “That doesn’t mean we’re cutting fire dispatch. Ok, we’re still dispatching for fire and we will continue no matter what the dispatch for fire because I will never let that take place. However, the manner in which we do it is going to change.”
Currently, there are 4 dispatchers assigned to fire calls out of the 17 dispatchers that work all dispatching.
