Mercy Health hosted a lunch for retired employees from the medical center. Around 230 retirees were on hand to reminisce and to learn the latest what is going on at the hospital. Some of the employees liked St. Rita's so much they returned to volunteer at the hospital after they retired. The luncheon is more like a family reunion just how close everyone got during their years working together.

Mother Nature may not have helped in the first couple of days of the fair by canceling a few events but as the week progressed so did attendance. With his first fair just about under his belt promotions and operation manager Troy Elwer says attendance has been above average as the last day of the fair approaches.

Don and Shawndale Chilcoat are in the Lucas County Jail on the federal charges of Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds; Disorderly and Disruptive Conduct in a Restricted Building or Grounds; Entering and Remaining in the Gallery of Congress; Disorderly Conduct on Capital Grounds; Parade, Demonstrate, or Picket in any of the Capitol Buildings; and Obstruction or Impeding any Official Proceeding.

With the ribbon cut, the 170th Auglaize County Fair is officially open and fair goers are ready for the rides, competitions, and of course the food.   But officials say there is one thing that make the Auglaize County Fair special.  “The people, we got so many great people that come up and help us with this fair,” says Ed  Doenges, Manager of the Auglaize County Fair.

Police say a couple of homes were struck but it appears those shots were not targeted but connected to gunplay in the street. Officers on the scene searched for shell casings and bullets. A detective unit was called in but there's no indication that anyone was injured at that scene.
